Yesterday morning, I read the News in complete disbelief. How could they?
Raif Badawi had been accused of insulting Islam, but it is my understanding that he now stands accused of committing apostasy, or renouncing his faith. If he is found guilty, the sentence will be death by beheading. That is the law.
If apostasy there is and the Saudis find Raif guilty, the Saudis, not Raif, will have committed apostasy. In other words, Allah is not asking for the blood of an innocent man. Men are, and men can be merciless. That is their only might. God, however, is infinite mercy.
According to this morning’s paper, there was some effort to free Raif on the part of Ottawa, Canada’s federal government.
I doubt that there will be justice for Raif. Not now that he stands accused of apostasy. Yet, we must continue to hope and fight. Ensaf Haidar, Raif’s wife, is alive, and so are three small children. They need our support.
There have been miracles.

I hope with all my heart сa Raif be released, that to return to his family. But I doubt that. Saudis want him dead and looking for all sorts of reasons. Why? I can not understand. It’s terrible case of Raif! I’m so sorry for him and his family so much suffering. 😦

Stefania, they do want him dead and it will be a cruel death that will radicalize Saudi liberals. Can they not feel the pain they are causing? Can they not see that they are harming themselves? Besides, Raif is like a landed immigrant in Canada. If they don’t want him, they can put him on a plane. We are waiting for him.

I doubt that he will escape the death penalty. They want him dead and cannot see the consequences. This injustice will radicalize Audi liberals, of whom there is a least a million. The king hasn’t stopped ruling long enough to see he has everything to lose. He may as well join ISIL. They too kill wantonly. I hope someone can talk sense into him, but would he listen. Thank you for reblogging my post. I am afraid for Raif Badawi and his family. The same judge and an accusation of apostasy! All we can do is pray for a miracle. I can’t understand why anyone would be so cruel.
