Changing Computers
Changing computers is a challenge. One has the feeling one is entering a store. One no longer buys Office. Every year Office 365 takes money from your credit card and renews itself. Pressure is put on users to choose Microsoft Edge as one’s default browser. Etc.
Fortunately, WordPress was not a problem except that my one image disappeared and my past post, which I started writing on 6 February, but did not post until 7 February, is dated 6 February 2017.

The RCMP, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, has determined that Alexandre Bissonnette, the Quebec City shooter, was influenced by Donald Trump, the President of the United States, and Marine Le Pen, the leader of the Front National, a nativist, far-right French political party.
The media wanted to link Alexandre Bissonnette, the shooter in the Quebec City mosque attack, to a Muslim terrorist association. Investigators found no evidence linking the shooter, Alexandre Bissonnette, to a terrorist organization. But his Facebook account reveals that he admired President Trump and Marine Le Pen, the leader of France’s National Front. Both Donald Trump and Marine Le Pen are nativists.
So a young French-Canadian student killed and wounded Muslims because he was influenced by President Donald Trump’s Islamophobia and by the President’s hatred of foreigners, which was spread by the media and in particular the social media. He was also influenced by Marine Le Pen’s nativism or xenophobia (fear of foreigners).
The Quebec shooting is case number one, but there could be more shootings if Donald Trump does not abandon all plans of barring Muslims from entering the United States.
President Trump’s Islamophobia and the media conveying his message have caused one young man to kill Muslims, which means that Mr Trump and the media, including the social media, are endangering the life of North-American Muslims.
President Trump should be impeached on the grounds that he is inciting violence.

There is no doubt that when an individual with the influence associated with the U.S. presidency talks xenophobia, more hate and violence are ignited.

Considerable prestige is attached to the presidency and this president does talk xenophobia. It led to a terrible crime. Alexandre Bissonnette was a fan of Trump and Le Pen and he killed. If President Trump is not impeached, there will be more attacks. It cannot be otherwise. Take care JoAnn.

It is scary, not only the very bad example of those egomaniac, but as well the perspective of the future. “Walls” to contain immigrants aren’t a solution: we know what happened with the quite famous Berlin’s wall. All the nations should stop selling arms to the lands in war. This to start with. But actually what happened in the US is going to influence all the planet… and I guess the madness is devastating. It is very scary. The wall however may not be built. He asked President Nieto of Mexico to pay for its construction and Nieto will not even meet him. But he is still trying to bar Muslims from entering the United States. That would be catastrophic. As for selling arms, if it is a source of income, he will be the first to sell weapons. That is very frightening. I’m hoping Americans will find a way to impeach him. Incitement to violence is cause to impeach him if it happens in the United States. But it happened in Canada. I can’t understand why the Republicans let him run for office. Take care Claudine.:-)

when economics or one of his representant have the power is a clue of wrong choice not made by the people but by the power of economics. once people vote a billionaire we need to follow the statement of jfk,s father. during few years before the 1929 crisis “i saw a shoeshine play in the stock market hence i immediately sold my utility stocks and i saved my business”. when somebody needs the people and claimed to be a billionaire it is really something wrong within the establishment of power. politics is a necessity if you are a businesses man of success being a politics it shows that you are not both a bussinessman or a true success man. ciao.

I apologize for not answering earlier. I didn’t have a computer.
I do not think Mr Trump is a good businessman, nor do I think he is a good politician. He inherited money and was unkind and unpleasant with the persons he dealt with. He has sued people for a lifetime and for reasons that I do not consider particularly honest. I have just published a post on the Canadian Prime Minister’s first meeting with Mr Trump. I suspect that Prime Minister Trudeau won Mr Trump’s esteem by pleasing him. He may have been protecting Canada’s economy. Canada could lose money if it does not have a good relationship with the United States.
Our Prime Minister played his role to perfection, but was there any sincerity? I doubt it. Justin Trudeau did not want to alienate President Trump. What about our environment? An oil spill could be a tragedy. We have to keep the planet clean. Yesterday was a good day. Mr Trump liked Canada, but how long will this last?
Have you noticed that everyone in his administration is rich? But are they qualified? Moreover, since his inauguration, he has issued one executive order after another, as though he were an absolute monarch. Has the United States ceased to be a democracy. Decent human beings do not hate other human beings on the basis of their ethnicity.
We are all the same. Canada takes in refugees. It has to be careful, but it does take in refugees. However many of our refugees will now come from the United States. They are people who run the risk of being deported. And Mr Trump’s Islamophobia did incite a young man to kill innocent Muslims, all of them fathers. Ciao.

I apologize for the delay. I did not have a computer.
President Trump’s platform or non-platform was populist. He attracted the poor, the veterans, the disabled, the unemployed, but he appointed wealthy people to his administration.
Mr Trump inherited his wealth and rumour has it that, as a businessman, he did not treat the people he dealt with very politely. Justin Trudeau, who is not rich, endeared himself to him, which is a relief to Canadian businessmen. But there may be a price to pay and President Trump may change his mind. Mr Trump is deporting people and some are fleeing to Canada. Good politicians do not deport people massively even if they have entered the country illegally. One tries to solve the problem.
Yesterday was a good day. But will President Trump stop building his wall to prevent Mexicans from entering the United States illegally.
It is difficult to say that Mr Trump is a good businessman. But it is already clear that he is not a good politician. He is acting like an absolute monarch, issuing executive order and executive order. I am afraid of Mr Trump.

I agree completly with you. Anyway in the United States the people they elected a President. You know I am thinking of politics from an area of the globe that is not exactely the core of politics. My point of view is Europa and inside Europe in a land called Italy. After the american elections the most representants of xenophobia and (sad to tell) fascist in the literally sense of the word. The message of the recent American elections is that some of anti-democratic people thinks that they have won. You know that the land where I live is the land where the fascism was born one hundred years ago hence it is very dangerous that the message of the core of Democracy (the United States of America) is reflected in European countries like a message of revanche of nationalism et similia. Yes in some way the Americans can think to be in they rights to defend their territories but (and it is a big BUT) the Americans (I presume) do not think that the world in plenty of people that are looking at the U.S.A. as the lighthouse of what the time are in future for us in bad or good way for the rest of world. This is the center of my thinking about Democracy in America. A big HUG to you, my friend.

Rinaldo, I am responding late again. Our prime minister was in Washington meeting President Trump. It was a congenial meeting and I allowed myself to express optimism. But it is fascism. Mr Trump is of the opinion that all Muslims are terrorists and he is deporting all illegal immigrants.
At the moment, the world can not look at the United States as a beacon. Mr Trump will let Canada welcome refugees, but he is defying the American Constitution and the courts in his attempt to keep Muslims out. In fact, Canada is now welcoming refugees from the United States and has to amend its immigration legislation to do so. Refugees have never come from the United States. The United States cannot be a democracy under Donald Trump. It is truly very sad and I hope this will end soon.
But it may not because Marine Le Pen is trying to further weaken the European Union. Frexit has begun.
